About Peniel Missions International Verulam

Founded under the spiritual legacy of Dr. John Ramasamy, who established Peniel Missions International Verulam on 16 October 1988, the Verulam branch is led by Reverend Anthony Pillay and his wife, Sylvia. For over 30 years, they have faithfully answered the call to minister to rural and underserved communities. This local work began from humble origins, with small prayer gatherings hosted at 206 Marula Circle, the Trenance Park home of James and Laura Chinnapien. Under the dedicated leadership of Reverend Anthony and Sylvia, PMI Verulam continues to grow as a pillar of faith and community service.

Having previously gathered in a temporary home structure that accommodated around 50 local members, our unwavering calling to offer both spiritual nourishment and practical support has led us into our next chapter. On 5 July 2026, we officially moved into our permanent church and community centre built under Project No. 4 on our newly purchased land in the rural area of Buffelsdraai. This new home allows us to greatly expand our reach and continue transforming lives through faith.
A Vision for Our Community

This is not just a church—it is a place of hope, healing, and transformation. Our divine commission is to feed, clothe, and bring salvation to the community of Buffelsdraai (No. 4).

Once fully completed, our church and community centre will serve as a sanctuary for spiritual upliftment and Christian fellowship, a hub for youth empowerment programmes, and a space for skills development.

Furthermore, it will stand as a support centre for rehabilitation and a primary base for our vital outreach initiatives.

Project Milestones & Next Steps

All glory be to God! We are so incredibly grateful to have officially moved into our new building. While the main structure is standing, we now look to finish the vision and complete the interior of His house so it can fully serve our community.

As we enter this final phase, we prayerfully invite your support for our immediate needs:

- A Ceiling for the Church: To provide a comfortable and welcoming place for God's people.

- Flooring, 252m² To complete the interior with carpet or tiling for a clean, beautiful finish.

- Music Equipment: To enhance our worship and reach more souls through praise.

- 6x Industrial Wall-Mounted Fans: To ensure proper ventilation and comfort for everyone during services and events.

FUN DAY (27 June 2026)

Blessing the Children of Our Community
On Saturday, 27 June 2026, our brand-new PMI Verulam location came alive with joy for a "Fun-Filled Day" dedicated entirely to the children in our community. In a wonderful partnership with Emmanuel Outreach Centre, local kids and families gathered for a beautiful day of interactive workshops, face painting, and special gift hampers. We capped off the celebration with a hearty meal, ensuring every child left with both a full heart and a full tummy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about Peniel Missions International Verulam, our ministry, or how you can get involved with Project No. 4?

Our services are currently held in a temporary residence in Verulam, 212 Marula Cir, Trenance Park . However, we are actively constructing our permanent church and community centre in the rural area of Buffelsdraai to expand our ministry.

Project No. 4 is our building initiative in Buffelsdraai. It is not just a church building—it is a community centre designed to bring hope, healing, and transformation. Once completed, it will house spiritual fellowship, youth empowerment programmes, skills development training, drug and alcohol rehabilitation support, feeding schemes, and outreach initiatives.

We are currently at the roof level of construction and urgently need support to finish this phase. You can help by donating physical building materials (such as sand, stone, cement, and roofing) by contacting
Pastor Anthony Pillay at 083 783 0086. Alternatively, you can make a financial contribution directly to our First National Bank (FNB) building fund account using the reference "PMI Project 4".

We are here to serve you. For pastoral support, prayer requests, or to learn more about our upcoming community initiatives, please feel free to reach out to our ministry leadership team directly through our contact page, or call Rev. Anthony Pillay at 083 783 0086.
